50+ years of Christian Ministry
Junior High 2
The focus for Junior High 2 is to build relationships with God and with fellow campers. Throughout the week, each camper's relationship with God is strengthened due to our emphasis on a Bible curriculum that ties in with the struggles teens are dealing with in middle school. We use a recent popular movie as a backdrop to create theme-based lessons that generate exciting discussions and build strong relationships between our campers and our staff. In addition, our JH2 campers build lifelong relationships with other campers and staff through our daily team-building and team activities. Campers have several opportunities throughout the week to rally together and compete in Camper vs. Staff events including Soccer and Basketball. The strength of these new relationships are then put to the test when JH2 campers and staff must work as a team to complete the "Manatawny Mudder, " a unique feature of our week.
Junior High 1
Specifically designed for the preteen and early teen years. Building a camper’s personal relationship with God is our number one priority. Our Bible classes cover foundational faith lessons and are taught by qualified teachers who make classes fun and easy to understand. Our campers are coming to camp at different points in their relationship with God, and our staff is equipped to teach and nurture their faith on each camper’s level. The Bible lessons learned are reinforced throughout the day in games and activities.
We have a very busy week, from the creek to the mountain top, we utilize all activities and facilities Camp Manatawny has to offer, and then some! Campers will have the opportunity to participate in the traditional camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, archery, horseback riding, creek walk, and campfires. Every evening we have an interesting and unique all-camp activity, from a comedy show put on by the staff, to all-camp wide games, or a talent show that anyone can participate in. There is never a dull moment! Our program organizes all of the campers into tribes, starting with a creative reveal of the tribes on Saturday night. Campers find their own sense of community within these teams. They will meet new friends and spend time with old friends... laughing, loving, and learning!
